Digital Wildlife PhotographyWildlife forms an integral part of nature and helps us experience unforgettable moments. And all these wild moments can be captured and nurtured for life with a digital camera by your side. When you are in the middle of nature with your camera, it's always enticing to shoot the wild animals closely. However, by trying to do this from a close range might scare away the creature, costing you a good shot. For this very reason you should zoom in, as your digital camera comes with a zoom lens. The size of the animal you're shooting plays a vital role in your shoot and also makes your job easier. Animals which are large in size, can be clearly and comfortably shot from a distance, and don't require you to approach them too closely. On the other hand, smaller animals can be photographed from a lower position. This will not only accentuate their actual size but also give a good and natural background, adding that finishing touch to your photograph. Also, while shooting any animal, you might want to take multiple shots of it rather than just one still shot (which is also good by the way). Multiple shots can be taken by catching the animal on the video or if your camera is equipped with fast shutter speed, you can also snap fast to get the desired results. Like any other skill, hunting takes time to develop. It requires patience and perseverance before you are able to get the right angle and shoot your target. So it's important that while taking the picture you must find a calm place (where you can be perfectly hidden) and then simply wait for the animal to show up and give you the right shot. Animals are very sensitive to light, so you should never use a flash while taking their pictures. It will make the animal uncomfortable and scared, ultimately making it run away. This will only help you get one vague shot and literally make it impossible to get another one. The most important thing you need to keep in mind is to be careful while you're dealing with the wild animals and not attempt to feed them in any way. Doing this is dangerous, as animals in the wild tend to be unpredictable and might attack. It's not hard to shoot animals with a digital camera, if proper care and steps are taken into account. The points you should continuously strive to improve on are your camera angles, being calm and patient while shooting. Finally, practice makes man perfect. It's always good to dedicate a portion of your time to perfect this art. And soon you'll find yourself clicking away and capturing some amazing wildlife shots which you can be proud of. |
